Amazing Cleanup on Martin Is. in Desolation Sound, BC.... Thank to the crew!!!

On the 3rd weekend of September the world goes down to the waters edge and cleans up the shorelines of wastedand debris to celebrate the “International Ocean Cleanup”. This year the Fishing for Plastic crew decided to turn it’s attention to a tiny island in remote Desolation Sound of British Columbia and we wanted to make a difference. So we chartered a boat to take us (with camping gear) over and bring us back with our haul. We had a wonderful camping spot and were treated to plenty of delightful encounters along the way including an up close visit from a humpback whale while sitting around the campfire. In the end we were able to clean all of the remote beaches and coves around Martin Island removing over 400kg of plastic, styrofoam, tires and numerous other bits along the way.
