Update from the Abacos, Bahamas

We arrived this week in the Abacos onboard Nomad and have been overwhelmed by the beauty of the beaches and the kindness of the Bahamian people.๐Ÿ๐Ÿ˜

Plastic cleanups have begun because we simply cannot walk past plastic waste on the beaches. We have bags of it on the boat now from Grand, Double-Breasted, Strangers and Allens-Pensacola Cays.

STAY TUNED for information on the Fishing for Plastic Derby on May 25th in Marsh Harbour!!

If youโ€™re not in the Bahamas you can still participate by organizing a local beach plastic cleanup (send pics) and joining us as part of the โ€œVirtual Fishing for Plastic Derbyโ€. Letโ€™s spread this effort far and wide to see how many countries we can make a difference in.

We are excited to be kicking off a Crowdrise funding campaign this week and youโ€™ll have the chance to donate or even better to form teams to participate locally or Virtually from anywhere. You can even do some fundraising with your team to help make the Fishing for Plastic pilot program in Marsh Harbour a huge success.

Thanks, Bill & Angela
